Python Pumps Dressed Up &Down:BFSC!

Hey Fashion Friends!

The weekend is coming to a close and I am wondering where the heck did it go?!?  It seems like I had a whole lot nothing going on and was just as busy a one legged man in a butt kicking contest.  If that didn't make any sense to you, don't feel bad because it sure didn't make any sense to me either...lol.  I just can't put my finger on why I am not ready for the week to start.  Oh well.

This post is a TWOFER...two outfits in one post!

I decided to feature my favorite turquoise python pumps dressed up and dressed down.
First up...the dressed up!

These Chinese Laundry pumps are definitely the go to shoes in my closet.  This is because they are chic but most important they are comfy!  I can wear these for extended amount of time and my toes are not ready to disown me.  You've seen these before in at least two of my previous posts.  If you click the Chinese Laundry or python label below, it will take you to the other posts.  I know, I should provide you with the links but I am being lazy...judge me if you like.

In this outfit I thought mixing the stripes with the python print would give it a more chic look and take it up a notch...BAM!

*side note* I need some good Emeril Lagasse Jambalaya in my life right about now.
I am starving as I type this.

Blouse: Ashley Stewart  Skirt: Thrifted:  Pumps: Chinese Laundry  Bag: Charming Charlie

Shout out to my son Tre' for not telling my bag was backwards.
I guess this was payback because I made him get up to take my pictures before I went to work.

Next up is the python pumps dressed down also my second to last submission to Jasifer's Big Fat Summer Challenge...the CROPPED TOP!  Woot woot!

Showing my belly love!

Confession:  I didn't have a cropped top and I'm on a spending diet so I had to improvise.
I made this top from a old thrifted sweater.

This was another item that was out of my comfort zone...hence me not even having a cropped top. But as said before, this is the whole purpose of this challenge.
Will I buy a real cropped top in the future?

Sure, why not?!?

Top and Levi Shorts: Thrifted  Bag: NY Vendor  Belt:  Sean John  Watch: Fossil

No Fuss Denim Romper - BFSC!

Hey Y'all!

It has been almost two weeks since I lasted posted.  I was on a posting roll and then got smacked by that weird unexpected storm that hit the DMV and other parts of the Northeast.  That darn storm left me with no power for almost a week! It was a pure nuisance.  Then I am dealing with a health issue that is really testing my faith.  So needless to say, I was not in the mood to post and even if I was, it would have been a major challenge without power.  UGH! OK moooooving on! You know I like to keep it light around here...lol.

This past weekend, the Mr. wanted to lift my spirits by taking me on a date.  Things didn't work out the way they were suppose to but we made the best of it.  (Tony...I appreciate you!) As I mentioned, I was not really in the mood so I put on my no fuss denim romper.  I had it well over a year and I don't wear it much.

I am not big on rompers but they do come in handy (as do dresses) when you don't want to have to put too much thought into different pieces.  It wasn't until I actually started getting dressed when I was able to get out the "no fuss" mood...hence the funky Aldo wedges (instead of some black sandals I was gonna put on) and accessories.

The picture lighting is off so you can't see that the big stone in the bracelet and in the ring is turquoise.
So I took another picture of the accessories in the house.

I am crossing the sleeveless item of Jasifer's Big Fat Summer Challenge!
We are getting down to the wire!  Bikini here I come!!!
By the way, I have an funny and interesting story about that.
I will tell you about it when I post it.  Stay tuned!

Another reason I opted for this romper is because although it is denim, it is lightweight and with it being sleeveless it was great to combat this 100+ heat we are having.

 It tiz T n T Mac!
Tony loves to wear pink. As they say...a man comfy in his manhood can wear pink.
The ironic part is although I wear it, it is not my favorite on me.
So he probably wears it more than I do. lol.

The Maxi for the BFSC!

Greetings fashion friends,

I hope you all had a great Father's Day!
I surely did,  I got to spend some time with my father in law and as always it was a pleasure.
I am blessed to have the greatest in-laws.

So yesterday, I wore this maxi dress.  Nothing special but it was easy & comfortable.  This dress is a few years old...approximately 5 years.  I know it is probably about that because I have to pin it up in the back because I've lost a few pounds from when I purchased it.  This is why I have on the denim cropped jacket and because it is a halter.  As I stated earlier, I went over to the in-laws.
They love me dearly (as I do them) and I want to keep it that way...lol.  You know what I mean.
I don't want Momma Mac giving me the side eye because she thinks I am half dressed.
Dress & Jacket: Ashley Stewart  Purse: Thrifted

If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter then you know my boys are gone for 5 weeks spending time with their dad and nana.  The issue with that is my oldest is my photographer.  This means I have to burn up several of my brownie points I have saved in my "Baby Please" account to keep the posts coming. These 5 weeks will be long ones as a married blogger.

Shout out to Mr. Mac for holding it down with the camera yesterday.
I LOVE YOU BUNCHES!!!

I have three small confessions to make.

Confession #1  I also wore this dress today because I had a slight headache and I wasn't up to putting too much thought into what to wear.

Confession #2 I also figured  it would satisfy the maxi on my Big Fat Summer Challenge list.  Ever since deciding to participate, I have been thinking about this list when choosing an outfit.

Maxi dress...DONE!
So far this has been easy...but umm short shorts and bikini?!? Woosahhh!

Beacause I am vertically challenged, this dress and all maxis sweep the ground/floor when I wear them.  I don't mind it, especially today because my feet stay covered.  Which is confession #3.  I am in DESPERATE need of a pedicure! It is a sin and a shame!  These corns is fixin' to pop!

lol...y'all remember this episode of Martin?
Somebody gotta go to work on my feet!!!

Seriously, I will handle it very soon (before I lose more valued brownie points...lol)
but until then...maxis and closed toe shoes are on tap.

You know what I say...judge me if you like. :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Operation Relax & Refresh

Happy Hump Day Lovely People!

Today I am sharing my pics from Operation Relax & Refresh...my vacation.  This post is more picture heavy than my usual posts so beware.  Although it is more pics than a usual post, I found that I was too busy relaxing to pull out my camera most of the trip.  So unfortunately, I only have a few pictures from inside the ship and I didn't take real advantage of the camera while at ports.  Also, these pictures are not to focus on outfits per se but to document the trip.  So, I hope you enjoy them anyway.

Me looking back at the ship as we tender to shore at the port of Grand Cayman

This place has a special place in our hearts because it is where the Mr. and I tied the knot.
On our actual anniversary next week, I will share a couple of our wedding pics.

Beach side...staring at these clear waters can never get old.

Vacation toes!
Sandals: BCBGirls via Off Broadway
The Mr. stood behind the lens begrudgingly because this guy tried to steal me away from him...lol.  You know how them locals do.  He was trying to help me get my groove back even though I never lost it! Heh.

Linen Pants: Ashley Stewart via thrift store  Aqua tank: Target   Striped tank: H&M

Just before getting back on the ship...bye Cayman Islands!  Until next time.

UGH! These pics do no justice for this dress...please trust me, it looks better in person.
Hello Cozumel!

Maxi dress: Old Navy  Tank: Target
You can't see my footwear but I had on bejeweled Skechers flip flops.  Can I just tell you it is like walking on pillows!

'Him' so silly!  He keeps me laughing :)

After a mid day nap!  Those mid day naps are the bestest!!!

One of my favorite things about cruising is coming back to the cabin
and finding these adorable creatures.  I thought I took pics of the others.
This time an Elephant and a Seal visited us along with this relaxing bunny.
Well...as I mentioned before this was cruise number one of two this year and Tony and I decided this one would be the relaxing cruise because the next one will be the party cruise.  There will be a "boatload" of us going celebrating different milestones. One of those milestones is Tony turning 40!  So we will have no time to rest we will be getting it in!  So this is why we decided on Operation Relax and Refresh.  We literally just threw stuff into the suitcases with very little thought and set out with the task of vegging out as much as possible.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed.
I think my next post will be Print Mixing 101
(not that I am an expert)
