Layered Run DMC Tee

Greeting greeting greetings!!!

It has been more than a minute and I am soooo ashamed to call myself a blogger.  This time the only thing I can blame is my busy schedule as if we all don't have busy schedules. tsk tsk tsk.

For those who have been following me for a while, you may remember that my boys play football.  Well, this year I took a more active role with my youngest son's team and let me say that this has been major work.More on that later.

Yesterday I went shopping, to a movie to see Flight and dinner.  This was my outfit of choice.

It was a gorgeous day yesterday so I decided to do a couple of layers.
I dressed up my Run DMC tee with some colored jeans, a houndstooth button up and pumps.

I am quick to layer a tee with a button up.
Great way to do layers when it is not quite cool enough for a sweater

The pumps were a good idea until I realized how much I was going to be on my feet. Then I decided to do away with the cute factor and put on my comfy chucks.

It is amazing sometimes the different tone an outfit takes when you put on flats of some sort.

OK...now back to football.  My youngest son's team is undefeated, repeat conference and state champions going into the regional this coming Saturday.  If they win on Saturday, they will advance to the Nationals in Florida.  This is why I have been so busy.  On top of the regular things that come with extra curricular activites, we have been actively fundraising to raise money for this trip.  Last year we opted to not go and one of the biggest reasons was because we didn't have the money.

Wooohooo!!!  Get em boys!!!

With this being said, football season will not be over for another 5 weeks, so I am not going to pretend to be here too much often until after but I will certainly try my best.  Thank you in advance for sticking with me.

Blessings!!!

My Patchwork Skirt

Good evening darlings!

First, I want to say thank you to all of you who take the time to leave a comment here.  I say that because the way these blogs are set up once a reader leaves a comment 9 times out of 10, they don't come back to that same post to see the blogger say thank you.  So when I say thank you, you probably won't know it. I don't like that we can't interact in that manner but that's just me.
So I am publicly saying thanks to all of you!

Alright y'all...here is one my latest thrift finds.  My $2.50 patchwork skirt!  One of the greatest things about thifting is the unique pieces you find.  I wore this outfit to work yesterday and I was asked a few times where I found it.  Of course that lead me to talk about one of my favorite pasttimes...lol

My fellow thrifters, what is the most unique piece you scored?  Inquiring minds wanna know.

Thank you for stopping by.

Winter White Styled with Love

Happy Valentine's Day Lovelies!

Today's outfit is Valentine's day inspired to have a lil fun with my fellow bloggers.
I have linked up with  everyone at Everbody Everywear workin' the Pink and Red!
&
Bloggers Do It Better where we are rockin' the Red!

In this outfit I went with the more traditional Love Day look.
In the outfit below I switched it up just a tad bit.
Both looks are perfect for dinner with a special someone or the girls.
Slacks are a little warmer for a cold day in February but can be swapped out for a skirt
if you wanna give a lil leg to make this look a lil bit sexier for a first date.

Trousers:  K&G   Sweater and Jacket: Thrifted   Necklace: NYC Street Vendor
Shoes:  Nine West Bracelet:  Pinlet by D  Belt: Target  Clutch:  Leather Man

I also wanted to switch it up just a lil bit by color blocking with a not so traditional Valentine color.

Trousers:  K&G  Blazer: Thrifted   Striped Tank: Target  Purse:  Streets of NYC  Shoes: Faryl Robin  Random Accessories

And since it is Valentine's day, I want to share one of my favorite pics of me and my Valentine.
Babe, I love you more than chicken and rice! ;-)
Happy Valentine's Day!

DIY Off Shoulder Sweater

Hey everyone!  I hope you all are having a great weekend!

This is a quick post.  I am running a little late.  On tap today is my sister's baby shower and then a movie with my husband.  This is what I am wearing.  This outfit includes a DIY off shoulder sweater.  The fabulous fashionista over at Style Pantry did a couple of them and I wanted to give it a try.  I like.
