The Statement Necklace!

Hey my beautiful fashion friends!  It is Monday and I am B.E.A.T!

I had a very eventful weekend.  Is it me or does everything tend to happen in one weekend and other weekends you are sitting around twiddling your thumbs?  Well...I don't ever twiddle my thumbs because I can always find something to do. It just seems like that sometimes. I am not one to get bored...even when I am at home with nothing to do...lol.

Today's featured outfit is what I wore to my girlfriend's 40th birthday get together.  If you follow me on Instagram, you know I celebrated with the Pink Panther. She loves the color pink and the pink panther and she is a feisty animal born on 6/9...lol  The festivities started out with dinner and back to her place "The Pink Panther Lounge" for cake, cocktails, the Heat/Celtics game and the Pacquiao/Bradley fight.  We had a ball!

I wanted to keep it simple and wear a crisp white button up, a vest and skinnies with a punch of color by adding this gifted statement necklace.  My girl Efie Lynn gifted it to me from her online accessory shop.  Isn't it fabulous?  Thanks girl...I LOVE it!  One of my girlfriends tried to rob me of it.  I held it down though. LOL Please like LA Lynn's on FACEBOOK and follow her BLOG to be amongst the first to have a chance to grab her fabulous pieces!

Cobalt, Sapphire, or Royal?

It's the weekend fashion friends!

I hope you all have some fun plans or major relaxation on tap for your weekend.
Yesterday, I wore my favorite color to work....BLUE!  I love blue...all shades, but my favorite would be ...
Cobalt...or is it sapphire?  I call it Royal Blue.

I've seen this shade called a few things and I am ashamed to admit, I don't know the difference (if any)between all the shades and it is supposed to be my favorite. Remember back in the day when Yellow was yellow, red was red and blue was blue?  Then crayola wanted to get all fancy and come up with all these 'new' colors which lead way to the fashion world getting crazy with it.

Melon and eggplant are more than just things you eat.  They are now colors that should be in your wardrobe.  How 'bout that canary?  Nope not talkin' about Tweety.  I am talking about that color that makes for some fierce color blocking with some honeysuckle and mint

I struggle with knowing what the new and more fashion forward name to call each color.
And then when I start to get it, the fashion industry changes it up.
Ecru, blush, ivory, cream and beige is all off-white to me.

I guess if I am honest with myself, it will take me a minute to understand that chartreuse is more than just green (or is it a yellow?) and periwinkle is not quite lavender... or is it?  Oh, forget it!

Will I be less of a fashionista if I just say what I know each color to be...blue, red and yellow?  It may not sound all fancy but you all will get the point, right?  I give it to all you fashion bloggers who are on top of your color name game.  It makes for a good read when all the fancy color names pop up.

I will just continue to get my color lessons from all of you who know what the heck you're talking about.  I will continue to try but if I don't get it quite right, do forgive me...please!

Thank you for listening to me admit my fashion blogger shortcomings...lol

As always, thanks for stopping by.

interesting enough become one of my newest friends!
I humbly thank you :)

To those of you have been hanging with me for a couple of minutes now,
I appreciate you all as well!

OK, today's look is an ensemble created with a skirt I got at the thrift store
For some reason it reminds me of being on a tropical ocean on a sunny day
and getting a fabulous breeze every now and then.
Well, maybe that is because that is where I would like to be...lol

Operation Relax & Refresh

Happy Hump Day Lovely People!

Today I am sharing my pics from Operation Relax & Refresh...my vacation.  This post is more picture heavy than my usual posts so beware.  Although it is more pics than a usual post, I found that I was too busy relaxing to pull out my camera most of the trip.  So unfortunately, I only have a few pictures from inside the ship and I didn't take real advantage of the camera while at ports.  Also, these pictures are not to focus on outfits per se but to document the trip.  So, I hope you enjoy them anyway.

Me looking back at the ship as we tender to shore at the port of Grand Cayman

This place has a special place in our hearts because it is where the Mr. and I tied the knot.
On our actual anniversary next week, I will share a couple of our wedding pics.

Beach side...staring at these clear waters can never get old.

Vacation toes!
Sandals: BCBGirls via Off Broadway
The Mr. stood behind the lens begrudgingly because this guy tried to steal me away from him...lol.  You know how them locals do.  He was trying to help me get my groove back even though I never lost it! Heh.

Linen Pants: Ashley Stewart via thrift store  Aqua tank: Target   Striped tank: H&M
Purse: Guess (purchased on the ship)

Just before getting back on the ship...bye Cayman Islands!  Until next time.

UGH! These pics do no justice for this dress...please trust me, it looks better in person.
Hello Cozumel!

Maxi dress: Old Navy  Tank: Target
You can't see my footwear but I had on bejeweled Skechers flip flops.  Can I just tell you it is like walking on pillows!

'Him' so silly!  He keeps me laughing :)

After a mid day nap!  Those mid day naps are the bestest!!!

One of my favorite things about cruising is coming back to the cabin
and finding these adorable creatures.  I thought I took pics of the others.
This time an Elephant and a Seal visited us along with this relaxing bunny.
Well...as I mentioned before this was cruise number one of two this year and Tony and I decided this one would be the relaxing cruise because the next one will be the party cruise.  There will be a "boatload" of us going celebrating different milestones. One of those milestones is Tony turning 40!  So we will have no time to rest we will be getting it in!  So this is why we decided on Operation Relax and Refresh.  We literally just threw stuff into the suitcases with very little thought and set out with the task of vegging out as much as possible.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed.
I think my next post will be Print Mixing 101
(not that I am an expert)

It's a TWOFER 'cause it's a Lovely Day!

Happy Sunday Gals!

This has been the most restful weekend ever!  Yesterday I only got out the bed to eat and go to the bathroom.  It was good!  With the weather being really cold and gloomy, I felt like doing absolutely nothing and didn't feel bad about it.  My guys didn't bother me and all I kept singing was

Lovely day, lovely day, lovely day, LOVE-LY DAY!
Now the question is which version?  Ummm, Let's see...

Jill Scott?  love hers but...

It was the Originale...

Serious feel good music...Lovely day, lovely day...

Alright...today's post is a TWOFER!  Yes, two outfits in one post :-)

So let's get on with it

I wore this first outfit to work on Friday and then Mr. Mac and I went to see Red Tails that evening.   *side note* Please go see Red Tails...for more reasons than one!

I opted for no pops of color for no reason other than sometimes I just like to stay neutral.

I actually took these pics today because I didn't get a chance take any on Friday.
It was freeeezing out there, brrrrr!

The Fit:
Jeans - Levis
Polka Dot Blouse - NY & Co.
Cable Knit Sweater Vest - Walmart

This next outfit was worn to church a couple of weeks ago.  I kept forgetting to post these pics, hence the twofer today.  Pretty simple looks for both but sometimes simple is better.

As you see I had to go to Club Wegman's (the grocery store) after church and decided to put on my combat boots for comfort.  Yeah, I roll like that!  Judge me if you like.

As usual, I really appreciate you stopping by.
