A Casual Friday Look feat. Tangerine

Greetings Fashion Friends!

Guess what y'all?!?! I was am soooo excited because I was able to go thrifting yesterday. Please share in my excitement to humor me...thanks!  It wasn't my idea but I couldn't say no.  As I mentioned before, we are trying to reel our spending in and I have not been in forrrrrreverrrr!  Oh how I missed it.  I walked in the store and I almost wanted to start sing "You make me feel like, I've been locked out of heaven for too lonnnng" which would have made me start dancing like no one was watching.

Gettin' it IN!!!!

*Side bar*  Some time ago I talked about certain songs that you have to play on "eardrum bust" level.  That aforementioned song by Bruno Mars is definitely one of them.  It is seriously therapeutic!

OK...moving on.  Again with shopping my closet both the tops are remixed.  You've seen them before.

Simple casual outfit great for Casual Friday or a bite to eat with the gals.

I'm going to Master the Possibilities and going to open up an online store...coming soon!

Python Pumps Dressed Up &Down:BFSC!

Hey Fashion Friends!

The weekend is coming to a close and I am wondering where the heck did it go?!?  It seems like I had a whole lot nothing going on and was just as busy a one legged man in a butt kicking contest.  If that didn't make any sense to you, don't feel bad because it sure didn't make any sense to me either...lol.  I just can't put my finger on why I am not ready for the week to start.  Oh well.

This post is a TWOFER...two outfits in one post!

I decided to feature my favorite turquoise python pumps dressed up and dressed down.
First up...the dressed up!

These Chinese Laundry pumps are definitely the go to shoes in my closet.  This is because they are chic but most important they are comfy!  I can wear these for extended amount of time and my toes are not ready to disown me.  You've seen these before in at least two of my previous posts.  If you click the Chinese Laundry or python label below, it will take you to the other posts.  I know, I should provide you with the links but I am being lazy...judge me if you like.

In this outfit I thought mixing the stripes with the python print would give it a more chic look and take it up a notch...BAM!

*side note* I need some good Emeril Lagasse Jambalaya in my life right about now.
I am starving as I type this.

Blouse: Ashley Stewart  Skirt: Thrifted:  Pumps: Chinese Laundry  Bag: Charming Charlie

Shout out to my son Tre' for not telling my bag was backwards.
I guess this was payback because I made him get up to take my pictures before I went to work.

Next up is the python pumps dressed down also my second to last submission to Jasifer's Big Fat Summer Challenge...the CROPPED TOP!  Woot woot!

Showing my belly love!

Confession:  I didn't have a cropped top and I'm on a spending diet so I had to improvise.
I made this top from a old thrifted sweater.

This was another item that was out of my comfort zone...hence me not even having a cropped top. But as said before, this is the whole purpose of this challenge.
Will I buy a real cropped top in the future?

Sure, why not?!?

Top and Levi Shorts: Thrifted  Bag: NY Vendor  Belt:  Sean John  Watch: Fossil
Necklace: Flea Market  Beaded Bracelets: DIY

I Will Rock My Red Pumps!

Hey to my fellow Divas and if I happen to have any fellas lurking...
What's up Divos?!

I am bright eyed and bushy tailed as I type this post because we have a beautiful day on tap here in the DMV!  Spring is right around the corner y'all!  Daylight savings time begin in a little over two weeks.  I don't mind losing an hour of precious sleep if it means that we gain an extra hour of daylight.  For us bloggers that hour is precious to us for photo shoot optimization.

Do you see the banner over there?    =================>

The Red Pump Project is a great organization and movement that is bringing awareness of the impact HIV/AIDS is having on women and girls.  While great progress has been made in the area of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, women still represent 27% of all new AIDS diagnoses, with African-American women accounting for 66% of that group.  Did you know every 35 minutes a woman is tested positive for HIV in the U.S.?   To me that is an alarming number for my community, so I am doing the least I can do to help.  I will have a dedicated post on March 9th and rock my red pumps on March 10th but before those dates I will mention it in every post to get you all involved.
The goal for the organization this year is getting 2500 blogs involved and painting the blogosphere REDWill you join me? Here are a few ways to join in.

There is more information on their website to be sure to go over there.
I'm ready to Rock My Red Pumps!

On to my preppy outfit!

The blazer is part of a suit that I bought yearrrrrrrs ago.  I believe it was my first adult suit I bought.  Don't even rembmer the name of the store.  I want to say an old store called Mandee.

Well alright alright!  How y'all doin?
Today's outfit post is for my link up with everyone at Everybody Every Wear!
As you can see, this month's challenge is Black and White.  Now I know I mentioned it before, but I LOVE wearing black and white.  So needless to say I was excited to participate.  Talk about an easy challenge.  I previously did a post wearing black and white HERE, and it is one of my faves.  Black and white almost always turns out to be such a classic look.  If you don't believe me, click the link below to head over to EBEW and you will see exactly what I am talking about.  Those ladies are looking gorgeous!  In my outfit here, I decided to focus on the white with a touch of black and python.  I truly adore wearing white, I always feel so fresh and so clean, clean! (OutKast, circa 2000) That's until I rub up against something and then be mad about it for the rest of the day!  UGH! *breathe*

...I'm dressed so fresh and so clean...so fresh and so clean, clean!  *side note*  I love OutKast :-)

Bling Blingin' Baby!

Hey my fellow Divas,
Greetings from Myrtle Beach!
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and was able to not over indulge like I did.  I so missed the boat yet another Thanksgiving.  I ended up catching the worst ever head cold and have been miserable.  Poooor me.  Today is black Friday and I managed to not over indulge in this area.  Maybe because I just didn't feel well enough to go out.  Gotta find the silver lining somewhere.  For those who went out, I hope you got everything you set out to get and manage to keep your cool when the black Friday attitude reared its ugly head.  You know one that creeps out when someone steals your parking space that you were patiently waiting on.  This is definitely a day you have to pack your patience.
Last night, despite my inablitiy to breathe through my nose and my throbbing ears from pressure build up, I had a good time spending Thanksgiving with my family.  Dinner was good as usual and as I mentioned before, I ate entirely too much!  (my tastebuds were working!)  Well...I just wanted to share my Thanksgiving outfit.  I think I look pretty good for being sick as dog.  These pictures were taken when the Theraflu kicked in...lol.

These genuine leather pants were a whopping $5 from the thrift store.  Actually they were priced at $9.99 but I got them for 50% off on half off day.  She shoots...and SHE SCOOOOORES!

The red python blouse is over 10 years old from NY & Co. This blouse is one of the many reason why my closet is overflowing.  I hate to throw or give away clothes.   You never know when a trend will come back around the corner.  The animal print trend is hot right now and this oldie but goodie looks like I just bought it yesterday.  Now if I had given it away someone else would be looking all trendy and what not...lol.
I was bling blingin' in my Afro Lady rhinestone tee which was purchased from

 Me and my men :-)

The Fit:
Genuine Leather Pants : Thrifted $5
Python Blouse: NY & Co.
Afro Woman Tee: Mommy Bling Boutique
Wedge Booties: K&G
Watch: Hubby's Fossil
Earrings: DIY
Sunnies: Kenneth Cole
Arm Party
